Editing sounds:
Recorded audio should be edited before being used on IMVU. This part of the tutorial will cover how to fade sounds. To edit recorded sounds we will use the application Audacity. It is a free open source program and you will find it in this link.
Fade in, Fade out:
Some sounds will benefit by having the start or ending faded.
A sound with a sharp cut might sound a bit sudden when used. The effect "Fade In" is a solution to make the sound more pleasant for the listener.
Here is picture of a sound clip in Audacity that we will give a faded start and ending.
Click and drag to select a short sequence of the beginning of the track.
Then press Effect/Fade In
If you also wish the end to be faded then click and drag to select a short sequence of the end of the track. Then press Effect/Fade Out.
Se below for the end result of my example. Both the beginning and end has been faded.
