I would rank anyone in the military above most. I can rest assure that I am free to be me because they stand on the wall and make sure I am so! Special Thank You to Hoyt (Army), Megan (Army), Steven (Air Force), Adam (National Guard), Travis (Army), Tomas (Army), Shanon (Army), Rob (Army), Andrew (Army), Jim (Army), Chase (Army)
I lost my brother in Christ, an amazing friend Justin Paton! He was proudly serving in Iraq, but was KIA! I miss him so much it hurts! He had a countdown on his profile of when he would be home. He's "home" now in Heaven not dealing with the trauma of this war. We talked very in depth about God, our lives, and the many battles we both faced. I will keep our memories in my heart for the rest of my life! I love you Justin~ Thank you for serving and keeping us all a little safer! As I always said to him before we ended a conversation Stay safe/All of you!!
We see you on the nightly news,
Marching in the streets-
Voices raised, fist upturned
All in the name of peace,
You profess to know whats right,
but you haven't got a clue
You're disrespecting the very folks
Who've been protecting you
This is how you say "thanks"?
You all should be ashamed
How is it that you sleep at night
What is it that you've gained?
Why is it that you're safe right now
And free to speak you're mind?
Because someone fought, lives were lost
For you, time after time
War Protester, be very thankful,
A soldiers' got your back
And if you can't appreciate this
Feel free to move to Iraq
I speak for all real Americans
Sick of seeing your crap on the news
And as a real American
I'll never share your views
The next time that you protest
And decide to burn my flag
Feel free to thank a serviceman
For that right to you he gave
Protester please continue
To march and take a stand
But I want to watch you do it
Over in Iran
(Side Note) This poem was not written by me, and I don't agree with everything going on...BUT I support our men & woman!! Those who march out of hate, bash, or curse the USA--this sentiment is meant for you. I pray for the safe return of everyone overseas! Until then, stop bitching and start thanking "whomever" THEY do what they do, so you DON'T have to!
**Let us keep in mind also all the families and friends of our men and woman! They play an important role by giving their love, support, prayers, and thoughts!!
