The Blocked list while needs a big revamping of the whole block system period this is about what can be done with the avatars you have blocked and why I feel this needs to be changed.

At this time if you block someone for whatever reason, if you click anywhere on the avatar picture/information itself it gives you four things you can do.

The Avatar picture: if you click this it opens up your client and sends the blocked avatar a chat invite from you.

IM: same as the avatar picture you click this it opens up your client and sends the blocked avatar a chat invite from you.

Message: when clicked this opens up the message widget and allows you to send a message to your Blocked Avatar.

Homepage: This has a double feature one you can click on the actual link and it sends you to your blocked avatar’s homepage. If you are one of those that do not like to go to the blocked avatars homepage but want to flag them you can right click and depending on what browser you use can copy the link address that will give you their account number.

These things to me need to be changed seriously.

For one there is a reason I blocked the avatar why on earth would I want or need not only two ways to chat to them on the client but why would I need to chat to the blocked avatar in the client, which to me, unless someone can really explain the benefits of that, seems useless.

The same goes for the message and homepage link.

I don’t like going to a blocked avatars homepage either but there is a work around to where you don’t have to at all go and block and avatar and do all that right clicking.

http://gaf210.imvustylez.net/codes/generators/links.php?lang=eng

That link has saved me a lot of un-needed blocking just to get an account number when I’m unable to be on the client and they are “unsearchable”

If you click on that link all you have to do is put in the avatar name and click generate and it will open up a page of links for you. One of the links is their actual account number.

My suggestion is that they get rid of all these links that you can do with a blocked avatar and make it so that if I were to click the avatar picture instead of it opening up my client to chat with this blocked person it pulls up their avatar card.

The reason I ask for that, is simple, a lot of times people will “attack” other users via their tag line I have had it happen to me before sometimes it’s GA but mean a lot of times its against the T.O.S what they write.

I’m very flexible in my suggestion if others can show me where having an avatar card pull up is even more of a bad suggestion I am totally open to hearing that and updating my suggestion.

I like this idea.

The whole blocking system is a bit of a joke, in my opinion. For example, if you've blocked a user, that user should not by any means be able to join a chatroom you are in. I am aware that the room owners can block them and they won't be allowed in, but if you do not know the room owner personally, asking them to block someone will not get you anywhere.

I like what you said about the invites. Those are a real pain. Never in a million years would I ever wish to speak to someone I have blocked.

I think the first paragraph is a bit extreme. The reason I say this, people have the ability to be in multiple rooms.

Or what about this, not everyone gets along.. but you have person A that you blocked but person A is friends with person B, and you are friends with person B.. Should person A not be allowed to visit person B, just because you blocked that person?

I think the compromise should be, fix the bugs that are currently in the blocking system, and just make the person invisible to you and not able to interact with you.

I agree 100% and with the newest update they have fixed this problem.. you can simply go into a room and "mute" an avatar the avatar will then disappear from the room and you are not bothered by them.

Honestly, even if you block someone, they can still come back in like 20 minutes or with another account. What I think IMVU should do is block the IP address. I know that sounds stupid, but obviously this person won't go away even if you just "block" or "boot" them. Yes?

As good as IP blocking sounds, it is not possible. Almost everyone has a dynamic IP address, this means that it's not a constant. You log on one day, you have such and such address, next day you log in, chances are you have a new address.

I honestly think as far as IP address go, the only time you have a constant is if you go online to check your own IP address. I could be wrong on this.

Not to mention anyone with just a fragment of how their computer and or how the internet works, can within a few minutes, just change their IP address themselves.

I agree that the whole "blocking" feature needs to be re-constructed what this post is about is not about the "blocking" feature.

It's about taking down links that are in the Blocked List that are, in my opinion, no use to the user.

Again why do I need to have a link to contact them via Homepage message, Chatting on the Client, or going to their homepage.
