Hi the names Zack Fair, i was born in the town of Gongaga, when i was 14 i joined Shinra's militant forces and was placed under the wing of Angeal Hewley for the next four years to become a member of SOLDIER. After the Wutai War was resolved, I, along with my mentor Angeal and Sephiroth, were sent to Wutai to learn what had become of the men under Genesis, another member. We learned that he had turned his back on Shinra, and had to be stopped at all costs. After the Genesis mission, i inherited the Buster Sword originally belonging to Angeal, and was soon assigned to Nibelheim with Sephiroth to investigate the nearby Mako reactor, where there were rumours of an outburst of monsters in the area. We were accompanied by two Shinra troops; one of them whom happened to be my friend, Cloud Strife. We also had a guide, to get us safely to the Mako Reactor, a young girl named Tifa Lockheart, she and i were friends, although she seemed quiet, as if something was on her mind. We fought many monsters, and suffered a few casulties but finally made it to the reactor. Cloud stood on guard to protect Tifa while Sephiroth and myself went inside. What we found was.....there are no words to describe it, Shin-Ra was the one responsible for the monsters..but there were far worse things to be found. Upon investigating the reactor and returning to town, Sephiroth visited the nearby Shinra Mansion and discovered documents that led him to believe he was the son of Jenova, whom he believed to be one of the Ancients. This information drove Sephiroth insane, resulting in his destroying the town of Nibelheim and nearly all of its inhabitants. He went to the reactor, and i chased after him. Inside i found Tifa, she had been injured by Sephiroth. She was angry, said she hated Shin-Ra, SOLDIER, everything.......even me...(Tifa i'm sorry, i won't ask you to forgive me...but let me put an end to this.) My anger grew and i went deeper inside the reactor to confront Sephiroth in a duel. But Sephiroth defeated me, leaving me severely wounded. Cloud arrived defeating Sephiroth, but was wounded also. We were both taken away by Shin-Ra, to be experimented on. When i was stronger i managed to escape, grabbing Cloud. But he was quiet and unresponsive...what had they done to him....and me? We made our way to the ocean meeting a woman named Cissnei. She called Shinra telling them that they lost the targets. I thanked her then and headed to my hometown. But then i was confronted by Genesis who stole a few strands of my hair, saying it carried the "S" cells. And that the S cells are Jenova Cells, but since Sephiroth was killed, only Cloud and myself now carry them. Genesis then left. What had Shin-Ra done to us? We caught a truck out of town, where we were attacked!. I managed to get Cloud to safety, but i was badly wounded. laying there i thought my time had come, but i was glad that my friends were safe.....then i suddenly saw a bright light, and a hand comming towards me, i took it and was lifted up as though i weighed nothing, i closed my eyes allowing the feeling to take over. But when i opened them again, i wasn't where i thought i'd be. I was back on the hard rock. I didn't have a mark on me *my eyes flash blue* i guess fate had other plans for me that day. I don't know what time has passed but i have to find Cloud, make sure he's alright, also........Aerith's, i haven't seen her for so long, it would be nice to see her smile again. Iv'e been thinking a lot about what Genesis said, yet somehow i know that there are others out there like me, with these "S" cells inside them. I need to find them, help them if i can. Iv'e heard of a man named Venge...why does that name sound so familiar?, since....that day, some of my memories have been fuzzy. I need to find him, maybe he know's something, anything, i have to try. *spies my Buster Sword stuck in the ground* hhmm what are you doing here? *picks it up twirling it round in the air* feels like a long time since i last held this. *placing it onto my shoulder, and walking towards Midgar* place looks even more of a mess than when i last saw it, heh, Look out Midgar, cause Zack's comming to town!
