There is genuine concern, love, and sacrafice... Ed gave his left arm and leg for his brother... literally, but it meant that he loved him, and was willing to suffer for his friend...
It is not the public display... not the soft kind words, or the great speeches or the renound from the world that your friends judge you as a person for at the end of the day... It's who you are, and how you treat them... Not who you say you are, and how you say you treat them... Thus, if your friends love you, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks, as long as you protect them and keep the safe from the evils of this world... This is my philosophy.
