Minamoto Izayoi was her given name. The fifth born daughter of the Minamoto Lord, born to the first courtesan, and after the first Lady wife passed away from illness, her mother became the next first lady wife. A beauty known and sought for through out Musashi's Domain. She held all the traits that a proper daughter of the Minamoto clan should hold: Beauty, grace, elegance, intelligence, talent and she was learned. Although much to her father's chagrin too learned, for she was obstinate as well, and refused to marry any young lord or prince that came to court her claiming it was beneath her to marry any for the sake of alliance and power.

Soon though her reasons altered, though she never let her family know them. She had seen a gorgeous sight: the great Inu youkai lord of the Western Lands. And he, he had seen her. It was hard to say if it truly was love at first sight-but after secret meetings in the forests outside of her family estate in the dead of the summer nights it became clear that that was what it was. Eventually The Inu no Taishou bedded her and made her his and his alone through youkai-matehood.

Considering herself married now, and wedded to a great Daiyoukai her refusal of suitors became even more vehement, much to the family's disgrace. Though none was so great a disgrace to them as when-after weeks of slipping out to meet with her secret husband, the Lady Izayoi found herself with child. None as yet knowing who the father was-it was decreed that she be locked away from sight until the babe was born of her. Nine months later, and a lot of sneaking around for the Inu no Taishou, she gave birth to the little Inuyasha...And her family's disgrace grew to a burning extent...and she was scorned…

But in the ashes of that scorn she was ever still a beauty...a Black Beauty, for now no man would ever have her. Sadly, she would never get to stay with her mate...Tragedy struck, and that's all that can be said....
