"A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?"

You've landed on Hraesvelgn's page. Does Tom Waits' gravelly voice have you running for the hills yet? No? Then you will do well here. ^^

Back from my holiday from the internet now, so I'm free to talk whenever. Even if you can't see me online, message me if you like to chat. I'm often not logged into the client but if I'm at the computer when you message me I'll see it instantly and can log in for you. By the way, if anyone messaged me a few months ago and never got a reply feel free to pester me again if you see me. I missed a huge amount of e-mails because I was busy with work and would really like to catch up with some of you, so please don't hesitate to contact me again.

A little basic information for all of you then. I'm Craig, staying in the rain drenched capital of Edinburgh up in glorious Scotland. I'm at university, tend to have a strange and ever changing sleeping pattern, and I like to sit in pubs making sarcastic remarks towards the locals, who either are too thick to understand that they're being made fun of or are too drunk to actually care. But I'm not mean, honest! I just enjoy talking to people with something at least resembling intelligence. Apart from that I'm going to let you find out the rest yourself. Get chatting with me and I'll tell you whatever else you want to know.

I've a few projects that are going to get underway on my absence from the internet, and I'll be posting links here once I've got a couple of things uploaded. These projects include a web comic, possibly some short stories and a sketch blog where I'll be chronicling my attempt to finally teach myself to draw properly. It should be interesting to see how much I manage to get done without the internet to distract me.

I'm open to chat to anyone, though send a message first: it gives me the chance to gauge whether I'm dealing with an idiot who should really just be stapled to the floor, or someone who might actually to be fun to spend some time with. I'm actually a pretty friendly guy to those I like; it's only when someone starts irritating me that I go into full sarcastic bastard mode.

I think I'll leave it there for now then. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all - just be sure to leave any thoughts of cybering at the door, and keep a pair of kebab skewers handy in case we need to fend off a moron in a public room.

For those of you who would like to know more about me before deciding whether to get in touch, there's a very long winded panel under my message list which gives more detail about who I am.

My Messages Leave a message / gift

Leave a message if you want to chat sometime, I hardly ever accept chats straight out of nowhere. And make it a decent message, would ya? I can only hear how many times my avatar looks good before I want to strangle someone. Just give me something to work with.

A quick word about silent visits. I do them a lot, mainly because I like seeing what others have done with their pages but I often can't think of anything worthwhile to say. Don't take it as a message that I don't want to talk, or think that I'm stalking you. To be perfectly honest I like to be contacted first. And don't feel compelled to leave a short message thanking me for visiting in the name of 'politeness' - all they do is clog up my board and irritate me.

Now, a few tips if you want to chat. First off, see that AP symbol next to my name? That's an invitation to swear as much as you want, wear whatever you want, basically to be yourself without having to censor yourself. I don't offend easily, honestly. What it is NOT is an excuse to try and get me to cyber. I'm still happy to talk to those of you who enjoy it and I don't even really mind if you come to the chat dressed for it, but beyond that it's a big no.

Second, I have a personal belief that the stupid should be bombarded with bricks if they ever go out in public. Acts worthy of this bricking include starting drama, typing in bastardised English, and generally being a prick. Being silly is fine, but not stupid. So if I would throw bricks at you if I met you in real life, chatting with me probably isn't a great idea.

Apart from all that, just have try to have fun when you talk to me. Being insane isn't a requirement, but it sure helps. And leave a message first!

Thank you for stopping by my page. You're one of the few I've run across so far that take the time to actually say a little something about themselves within their profile, and it's nice to find someone of age who is not interested in the more sexual fantasies of IMVU. If you have the time, and are willing, I'm up for a good conversation when I'm online. Oh, and by the way you can call me Misha.

As some of you out there actually have an attention span that can hold you long enough to enjoy reading longer and more detailed descriptions, I thought I would decide to write down more about myself for those out there who may be a little more cautious or shy about who they decide to talk to, and want to know more them before they try to become friends. Reading this part is entirely optional, and I’m certainly not going to be any less friendly towards you if you felt the first part was enough. However, you’ll receive major hugs if I can tell you did decide to read on; and trust me, it’s incredibly obvious when someone does. So, a little more about me…

As I’ve mentioned previously I’m at university in Scotland, more specifically Heriot-Watt University situated on the outskirts of Edinburgh. It’s a very peaceful campus, which suits me perfectly as I work far better when I have a quiet working environment, and I’ve never really been one for the hustle of the city centre, at least not for long periods of time. I‘m studying for a masters degree in architectural engineering, which in basic terms is all about energy provision in buildings and the design of various services that the building requires. It’s a really interesting course, but unfortunately the content of it usually means the lecturers tend to be no more than three years away from retirement and are very, very dull. I’ve just started my second year however and the first year of learning just flew by, so hopefully it won’t seem like long before I’m out actually applying all of the things I’m learning to real situations (and earning stacks of cash for my trouble).

I have a number of hobbies, a number of which I had to put on hold for a while (mainly due to having to work constantly over the summer) but many of which I’m slowly getting back into. The first of these which I’ll mention is writing. Assuming you’ve been reading pretty much everything before this, you’ll probably notice that I’m very careful about using proper grammar and spelling. I do this first of all because bad English on the part of someone who’s grown up with it as their first language is one of the things I hate with a passion; it’s just inexcusable. I don’t mind in the slightest when I can see they’ve made an effort to spell correctly or if they have a really good reason for not spelling to a normal standard, say, dyslexia or English not being your first language. But otherwise, you really don’t have a leg to stand on with me. The second is that I love writing in all styles and genres; I took the advanced English course at school and it really inspired me to do more. If you want a few examples, I’ve done an kind of adventure style one about a mountain expedition gone wrong, a dramatic monologue expressing some of the possible consequences of smoking, and a hilariously bad murder mystery story which was written off by nearly everyone who read it as ‘predictable’ (though I’m so rewriting that one, it was the most fun I had in ages). I even tried doing a romance short story once, though the less said about that the better. If anyone would like to see these by the way feel free to ask, though the romantic one is never seeing the light of day again. Seriously.

Second hobby, and one that consumed huge parts of my time before I decided to leave my laptop at home for three weeks to learn to limit my time on it, is gaming. I am the original gamer geek. I am never happier than when sitting with a controller in my hand, and blowing someone’s head off. I’m totally against the whole ‘video games make you violent argument’ because it’s a load of crap. If I didn’t have game characters on which to release my inner rage, I almost certainly would have throttled someone for real by now. It’s a stress reliever! I’m also a big fan of online gaming, and speaking of which… if anyone’s interested in starting to play Final Fantasy XI Online in a few months time, make friends with me. It is admittedly a monthly charge but the game is brilliant fun. I think I’ve already got a few people committed, and if we can get enough people together to play all at once we can wipe out one of the worst major drawbacks of pretty much any online game – waiting for battle parties. So please, tell me if you’re interested. Because the last thing we need is to scatter ourselves over different servers.

Third on the list is music. Maybe not really a hobby, but it’s worth mentioning seeing as everybody seems to have a greatly different taste in it. Any of you who have visited my page before may remember my massive playlist, which I had to trim down because it was proving impossible to keep all the links work. Broadly speaking, I like pretty much anything as long as it was recorded in the 1980’s or prior to that. I do enjoy some more modern music, but it’s pretty rare and far between these days. Maybe also worth talking about is that I did play a couple of instruments in my school years. I started off with a euphonium (basically a smaller tuba), passed my music exam with it, and then gradually began to hate it more and more because I never got an actual tune, always the bass line. In my last year I took up saxophone which I enjoyed a great deal more, and I got better at it a lot faster than I did with the euphonium. By the time I hit university I was fairly competent with it and I joined a smooth jazz band, which I played with till around Christmas, but we never really got back together after that. Money got a little tight towards the end of the university year so I ended up selling the saxophone, a move which I really regret and I’m planning to try and buy a new one when I get a job. So there’s a little history lesson for you all. ^^

Fourth and last hobby is art. I’m calling it art because I want to cover a couple of things in this paragraph because the description is getting really long now. I have a very keen interest in photography despite not having done a lot of it lately, even though I’ve got pretty much all the equipment and software. I really hope to be able make a couple of trips up and down the country this year seeing as my budget wouldn’t allow me to plan any last time, but I think having a job this time will really help that ambition. I mainly do nature photographs (the background picture is one of mine, incidentally) though if I can get to the right places I plan to do a number of wildlife ones. I also recently found out there are foxes and deer living in the field out my parent’s back garden, so that’ll be my first place to look. Another thing I haven’t done in a long time is drawing, but I’m slowly getting back into that. I tend to draw whatever comes into my mind at the time, though if there are in any people in them they’re almost always furries, mainly because humans aren’t half as fun to draw. I’ll try and get some of my more recent drawings uploaded in case someone would like a look. There’s also the webcomic which I hope to have started in the next couple of weeks, but to be honest I don’t have a lot of the details worked out yet so I’ll post more on that later.

So there you are; a lot more on who I am for those of you who might like to know more about the weirdo whose page you’ve found. Hopefully this will have managed to convince you that I’m not really quite as scathing as I made myself out be in the opening panel, and that I might actually be someone you’d like to get to know better. I’ve always considered my online friends to be just important as my real life ones (more so in some cases) so you’ll find me just as friendly as I would be if you met me in person. So please, don’t be afraid to get in touch – I can only assume if you managed to read all of that you can only be someone I’d instantly warm to.
