Then we'll place him on the autism spectrum. Due to his other medical conditions, he already qualifies for services. Due to his age and some of his behaviors, there were just too many questions. How is your son? And also have you been directed to TechGod's stuff, he has a lot of autism awareness stickers and such. :)
Hey, saw you peeking in on my page, thought I'd drop you a message. Cade was tested, they said he has a high probabilty to be on the autism spectrum, but due to his age and the inconsistancy of his supposed behaviors, they're going treat the ones they've seen, but no diagnosis yet. He's getting a lap board for communcation and in six months, after he's had it and had some time to communcate with it, we'll evaluate him again. If he's still scoring high (contnued)

Yeah, he's been in speech therapy for two years. No luck with any of the usual methods. He has no interest in sign language. We've been trying and keep trying, but so far, sign has been a wash. He communicates with some gestures and is extremely independent, but he's at that age where his needs have surpassed his communicative ability. And he's frustrated. The poor kid. We're hoping tp have better luck with the AAC, which is something he may take to easier than sign.
I'm waiting for the diagnosis. And he doesn't fit the behavior pattern for Aspberger's at all. At his age, he's hard to diagnose, but the sooner he is diagnosed, the sooner we can start treating him. He's pretty frustrated, the poor kid. He's being evaluated for alternative augmentative communcation device (basically a machine that talks for him) later this month as well, so hopefully, things will be looking up for him soon. You're welcome. And Cade is four. He is extremely social, even without his speech and his hardly the typical 'arm's length kid' you see with autism. He is seeing a geneticist Wednesday who will be running him through a gamut of tests. I just want to get him started, because right now, the poor kid is spinning his wheels because he can't make himself understood with no way to communicate. Hi, I'm Dee. My son is being tested for autism and ADD this week. They think he probably has both and although he is probably high functioning and attends a regular school, he doesn't talk. It is great to see moms who support their special needs children in such a positive manner and work so hard to spread the word. Education is the key.
