Valerie was discovered as a young musician by her parents, both musicians in clubs and restaurants. Valerie began to develop her musical ear at the age of 10: she wents in clubs with her parents to sing few songs on stage to accompany them. Her first musical influence was Gabrielle Destroismaisons. At that age, Valerie already tried to compose songs that spoke of her life and her entourage. Her first french song was called "Les Baleines" about the fact that we should not kill them but rather try to learn how to love and understand them. Her second song was in english and was called "Two Dogs and One Bird", which tells how her pets are wonderful. At the age of 11, Valerie tried to mount her first group named "The DevilsCats" made up of 5 girls who danced and sang as the "Spice Girls" but influenced by "Aqua", "Vengaboys" and "Josie and The Pussy Cats "...
After this adventure, Valerie had worked on performing her singing and writing. She went to see groups live and takes taste to do the same. Four months passed, she moved to Laval and learned guitar in her school even if, after 4 months, she was already better than the teacher Seeing her talent growing, she began to sing and participated in all the singing competition and shows in her school. After time, she moved and made new friends as Julie Desormeaux who also had an interest in music. She met her brother Alexandre Dubois who was being said battery player and it was in August 2005 that the group Reccal is formed with Valerie, Julie and Alex. Unfortunately, Julie left the group not longer after seeing that she hasn't her place. A year passed and the group did not grow. Valerie was making music on her side and Alex, too. Then, in December 2006, Valerie met Jean-Sebastien Brisebois, guitarist and singer. Both artists take part to their school performances and it was after five months of practice and complicity that the two of them decided to make an alliance. The group now had 3 members. In May 2007, J-S presented to Valerie two friends : Mike Boudreau and Fany Francoeur, both musicians composers. They developed a friendship quickly and Valerie started to compose, in J-S's studio, her first song "Get Out of My Life" which is inspired by real facts of his life. And then it continued and evolved with the song "Need a New Love", "Goodbye Misery," "Sleeping on My Mind" .. During the summer of 2007, Valerie had done four shows accompanied by J-S, Mike and Fany and she realized that this was really what she wanted to do with her life. Today, she publishes videos of herself on youtube to get knowed and she works on her compositions with the hope of making an album and became a recognized artist.
