Behind a sea of buildings

That crosses my mind.
The receding heat goes ignored
As the warmth of your impending
Visit rushes through my
Veins, igniting me in a flame of
Passion and love
I only feel when thoughts of you
Cloud my mind
Unknowingly, you lift me off the
Ground, wrapped in a high
Even drugs can’t mimic
Maybe that’s why your
Inability to keep your promise,
The deprivation of your presence,
Always leaves me so completely broken
Every time I wait in vain.
