Sorry for the late reply but Yeah,You can call me my real name...And about the credit thing you go to http://www.imvu.com/catalog/web_payment_op tions2.php?payment_op=sms and click on australia... then you click on buy a pin and it'll have some instructions for ya...It costs 6.60 so you might want to have prepaid and heaps of phone credit...lol...then when you get the pin go back to the page and click on something you want to exchange ur pin 4....6.60=1 pin=3000 credits,and so on.You dont have to use that method if you don't want to....I just use that way the most.Sorry...You probably didn't need that massive walkthrough...lol

To get backgrounds ya have to join one of those picture hosting websites, like photoshop, Upload some images that you like, then copy the url of the picture ya want, go to the lil 'edit' box at the top of your page, choose background and paste the url into the box...Or something like that...Lol.
ummm i got this weird background from photobucket i think ( or what ever it called) and too put backgrounds go where it say edit and copy and paste the pic's url and past in the box push save and u got a background :P u can get backgrounds from every where most time lol. if u need more help tell me :P
