(From the Diary of Lord ElderGothic (Marquis De Gothique) of the Clan Gangrel)

Born in the year 1682 on the edge of the Black Forest,on the banks of the Danube river to a poor farmer and his wife,

I grew up learning the agricultural skills and in the process learning about nature and adopted the way of the "old Religion" which at the time was outlawed by the 'christian' community..

Deciding to explore Europe when I was just a man of 17 traveling north to the Norse lands,

and spend a few years there learning the ways of sub arctic survival.. Afterward making my way through western Europe in my travels,

finding my way into the wilderness of France and as I was one night hunting for nourishment as I did not stay in anyplace in particular not caring much for the city life and established shelter in Europe,

I chose to make due with my surroundings.I fell upon a group of creatures(I call them creatures because even though they appeared human in form they had an animalistic feel to their nature) feeding on what appeared to be from my vantage point a group of people that I expect were a hunting party,

one of them lunged at me and as I feared to be this ones next helping of fresh meat, I fought for all I was worth

fearful for my very life, finally feeling the exhaustion of the physical struggle,the creature bested me and sunk his blood soaked fangs into my neck,

beginning to weaken and fearing that I was at my lifes end I collapsed into unconsciousness,expecting this to be the last thing I see in this life...

I wake up after what must have been hours, weak, hungry and next to a campfire which barely attempted to warm my chilled body,

I glanced across the fire and my gaze falls upon the man that I had struggled against earlier,

and startled a bit,I attempt to get up and run but my head throbbed with the mother of all headaches and my neck pulsated where I had been bitten by this being.feeling my neck I feel 2 puncture wounds inflicted by him.

I begin to form the words to ask him what am I doing here and why pray tell am I still alive,as he would most certainly been able to dispatch me with ease,and I was interrupted by him speaking.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I am by name Xaviar DE Calais Progeny of Rhun of Tintagel,and Justicar to the Clan Gangrel a sect of the 'night walkers."..

these words sinking into my groggy mind 1 word shoots through the massive headache, "Vampyre"?! I scream as I start to back away panicked.."Do not fear my child,you are one of us now, a 'vampyre' as you say" chuckles

with amusement apparently at my words as he tosses a chunk of raw meat to me. "feed, you must be hungry "and considering the intense hunger I had felt since regaining consciousness I agreed silently and grabbed the meat and ate ravenously,

without so much as stopping for breath.. As I ate he proceeded to give a rather generic explanation of what I was exactly,

and eluding in a slight way to the history behind the creature I had become. And at last after speaking he bid me well and parted my company with a warning that I remember to this very day

."although you are a creature with great power and many skills as you will learn in time, it comes at a price.. with age comes insanity,as we are cousin to the beasts eventually your mind will fall victim to the monstrous behavior that wells within you. mind your wits as long as you can for they will only be with you for a time"..



Reflecting on his words I contemplate deeply trying to probe the deep recesses of my memory trying to recall legends told to me as a young lad of similar creatures said to roam the countryside feeding on whoever or whatever might cross their path..

feeling quite agitated I begin to feel a bit 'funny' and I notice that my hands are growing a type of thick fur on them as they change form a bit and as it continues I am increasingly more agitated and before long I am different,

in a panic I begin to run thru the forest, no particular destination in mind, just running, and as I come to a small stream I stop to drink and as I look at my reflection I recognize it then again it is strange to me,

As I know it is me looking at the water it is not me looking back from the surface, but a wolven creature, considerably larger than a normal wolf but a lycanthrope nonetheless..

I jump back from the stream and pace around not certain what to make of this current situation and feeling agitated but quite weary from taking in all the information and shock from the night. I lay down under a tree and soon fall asleep...



I awake to find myself quite lacking in clothes and back in humanoid form, but with fingernails more noticeably claw like in appearance. a bit disgruntled at my lack of covering I see a fallen deer,

quite freshly killed lying nearby, hearing and smelling no other beings around I move to the deer and tear it open and proceed to feed on it as I awoke with a great hunger again,

and as I tear bits of meat from the carcass,I design to somehow remove the skins to fashion a covering for my stitchless and increasingly chilled body and finding my new claws to be quite handy in this endeavor..

I remove the skin quite expertly and fashion a sort of loincloth from it. Deciding that will have to do until I am able to find more suitable clothes.



I spend most of my time exploring the many 'talents' I seem to have acquired with my new 'life'. I find also that my previously learned abilities seem to be a bit stronger as well.

Spending the better part of quite a few years acclimating myself with everything,deciding to remain in the French countryside, I acquire a small parcel of land in Eze a few miles away from Nice, France

and hire a local contractor to build my new home.. During construction I occupy myself by exploring the nearby forest and learning the lay of the land and developing my skills of changing my form to different types of predatory creatures,

and my personal favorite,resting and speedily traveling by taking the form of a mist. as time moves on I begin to accept my 'life as it is,but despite the hunger that is always with me I do not allow my personage to change the person I was,

manners and refinement that I learned in my years of travel stayed with me and I seen to that personally,

making myself a notable personage among the local populations 'night life' and dark society which I had come to discover was far more populated than I would have guessed...

I noticed my 'antisocial' nature that I inherited from my Gangrel blood.and despite my efforts, at times that proved to be a hindrance as well as a help..



Finally able to mesh with the local vampire population, I learn at length of a group of slayers that were invading several torpor locations, and killing the occupants as they rested, without even a chance to defend themselves or their safe havens..

Which perplexed me considerably given a vampires heightened senses.This seeming a bit unfair to me,

I decide to wage my own war on the slayer parties in the attempt to make their task a bit more difficult to accomplish, killing them as I come across any, and in the process causing a sigh of relief to ring out throughout the local 'night life'. Granted the attacks did not stop entirely but my efforts had slowed them considerably,

and the potential victims, for the most part, made measures to try to prevent future surprise attacks by the slayer groups.. I seemed to have caught the attention of the slayer community as a whole,

as I received word that there was a 'price' on my head put out by the slayer clans, which only served to increase the number of hunters per party and make the fight a bit more interesting, as greed would cause most of them to attempt to take me on in the hopes of gaining the bounty on me,

and besides a few insignificant injuries I would suffer at their hands, the only award that awaited any brave fool that would confront me was a complimentary disemboweling or beheading...

One day in particular that I expect shall remain with me for the rest of my days,

I am out doing what became a normal routine for me and 'patrolling' the countryside and known torpor spots looking for the vile murderous creatures,and this time being early winter,

I found tracking them proved to be a bit easier than in other seasons.. Grabbing the scent of a particular group of slayers that in the past had proven to be expertly elusive and difficult to find and defeat before their damage was done.

Determined to finally put an end to this group in particular,as they have been evidenced as causing the most carnage, I change into my wolven form and begin to use my heightened animal senses as an aide, I begin tracking them into an area known by few, and only known by me for several torpor spots,and as local word would have it,a community of Elves somewhere deep within the thick forest..

Never having seen one personally, rumor dictated that they were a very closed and secluded people...

At length my keen ears pick up on sounds coming from a cavern nestled in the side of a hill. as I approach, I detect the scent of 6 people I recognized as the group I had been seeking. Changing my form into a hawk , I fly near the entrance, and my gaze falls upon a group of dead vampires, piled together like trash..

From their appearance I could tell that each were killed as they rested, without even a chance to defend themselves. I look over the group of hunters plundering the bodies as if they were looking for someone specific..

It dawns on me quickly that these people were looking for me, as I heard my name being uttered from one of them,

and they killed these people in their sleep trying to find me. Anger welled up inside me at the senseless carnage,and it caused me to feel the lust rage..

There were 2 near the entrance, and I decide those will be the first taken down.. I take flight toward them and change forms in mid air to my wolf, and I first leap into one of them snapping his neck, killing them instantly,and reaching out striking the other one,

slicing through his armored robe with my claws exposing his bowels to the late night air.. He drops to his death and I catch a glimpse of the remaining 4 running away,

possibly to regroup and make a final stand against me, which I determine that it will indeed be their final stand, careful to watch their weapons as the 'leaders' carried a strange weapon that propelled a lead ball after a small, loud explosion.. They did not inflict considerable damage as my skin I discovered was quite thick and armored

(probably an effect of my Gangrel bloodline), but the hot lead tended to burn and disorient me when struck by them. I give chase and run them full speed into a clearing in the wood,

I leap and take down 2 at once, dispatching them quite swiftly.. And while taking after the other 2 I sense another person nearby,

but as they don't seem to be a threat and don't smell as the others, I pay the newcomer little mind as I reach and stumble one of the men and I tear his throat open as the other fires his weapon toward me, hitting the ground beneath me,I remember thinking that those weapons dont seem to be very accurate.

I leap at him and he drops his weapon and attempts to fight back striking me with a hand held blade, piercing my side as I land on him knocking him to the ground,

he landed, arms flailing,striking out at me. Grabbing him by the head,I let out a loud roar as his blade finds its mark once again,and in my pain and rage I sink my claws into his skull tearing his throat open and sinking my muzzle into his windpipe as he goes limp and lifeless beneath me..



Then, as I turn away, the hunt over, only to find an Elven Female dressed in what appeared to be hunting clothes,with a bow drawn and trained on me, ready to let fly at any moment..

Sensing her fear of the recent events, I lunge at her, still slightly in lustrage from the hunt,

snarling loudly and, she not having moved so much as an inch signifying her fear,

I am quickly intrigued by her steadfastness and refusal to waver despite her fear of what could happen. I examine the woman closely and find her to be a very fair and beautiful woman,

even by Elven standards.. She appears to be examining me as well from a distance,

and I see the expression on her face change as she slowly and cautiously lowers her weapon.. She opens her mouth to speak and I wait and listen as she asks.........
