I quit.

It doesn't take a genius to see that IMVU treats its developers horribly. Go take a single look at the forums and you'll see.

1. IMVU changes its user agreement without notifying users. You only see it if you login again, and since IMVU makes it an option to remain logged in, there is no guarantee you will ever see the changes. That is not good enough. For what is effectively a legally binding document, it is THEIR responsibility to keep the users informed, it is NOT our responsibility to look for it. They cannot change the rules without telling us and then punish us if we don't follow them.

2. IMVU HATES ITS DEVELOPERS. Think about it: They change the mature content guidelines on a whim. If your product doesn't fit the new rules, it's gone. They don't check player flags on items - if you flag one of my items as AP, it's pretty much AP unless I go out of my way to dispute it. Now they're expecting developers to pay refunds when their products are deactivated according to rules that change frequently and with no input from the users. BULLSHIT.

3. IMVU hates its players. It hides from us. Have you ever tried to contact staff? I have. FOR A MONTH. Polite emails, not harassing ones, sent repeatedly. That was last year. STILL no word at all or any kind of acknowledgment from any member of IMVU's staff. They never make appearances on the forums unless it's to announce new policies that will inevitably anger us.

Consider this account inactive. I will not log on to chat with you. I might respond to homepage messages on rare occasions. I will not be developing any new products and if mine are disabled thanks to IMVU changing the rules on me again, then blame them, not me.

If any of my products are labeled AP and you lose them, tough it out. A developer without an AP cannot sell AP products, so regardless of whether or not you have one, you will lose any of my products that are labeled AP. I will NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES purchase an AP, so go complain to IMVU for their horrible business practices, not to me.

I'm out of here, and frankly, I encourage all of you to do the same. Screw IMVU, screw their inept staff members. There are better games out there. GET OUT.

To All who Purchase Digi-Pets:
Please make sure you view your digi-kitties in "preview" mode for your home page, not in "edit" mode. They will not work in "edit" mode.
Also be sure that no other stickers (including transparent areas of them) are blocking your digi-pet because you won't be able to click on them and interact with them, then.
Feed and play with your digi-pet regularly, and enjoy! :)
