A little about me. Well, my name, oddly enough, is Allison. :) I AM 22. I live at home with my wonderful family. My Dad, who is my Papa Bear. I love you Daddy!! My Mom, (MomKatIND on IMVU), who is my adventure pal. We do alot together. And my zany, talented and sometimes pesky little brother who I'm trying to convince to get an account so he can show off some of his talent. And we have three cats. Brightspot, or Spot for short, is my baby and such a pretty girl!!
Bright Spot
I make and sell macrame jewelry. It's more a part-time hobby than a real business, but I enjoy it. I love riding my bike and walking. I especially enjoy spending time in the woods, and I'm interested in edible wild plants and herbal remedies, though I'm far from an expert. I also like to talk to people because you can learn so much interesting stuff that way. I'm a somewhat talented artist, and I've done a bit of writing. I write mostly poems, though I've written a couple of short stories and a few studies. Check out my blog for some of my pieces.
One of the things that enchants me though is stars. Sometimes I just sit and marvel at the beauty and timelessness of the night sky. I'm awed by the vastness of it and touched by it's grace and calmness. Stars seem so delicate, vanishing like a shy doe at the first kiss of dawn. Yet, even knowing the awesome size and power of these lights, it doesn't diminish my awe, but rather increases it. That the hand of my Maker fashioned these roiling distant beacons, and by His power guides them in their courses to show times, seasons, directions; it takes my breath away. They don't waver. They don't break course. They follow the pattern He set and illustrate the steadfastness and unchanging nature of God. 'The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork' [Psalm 19:1] Wow......
It is my heart's desire to please God and to share His love with others. I DON'T DO SMUT, INCLUDING CYBER, SO DON'T GO THERE. If I can help you with something, I will, though I'm not on much. I hope you enjoy your visit to my page, and that you'll take the time to look around. I try always to be honest and truthful and speak from my heart. May these bits of me touch your spirit and may the truth of life in Jesus resonate from my heart to yours. Leave me a note or just browse as you like. Thank you for your time, and may your day be blessed.
I hope that you find these words to be both a blessing and an inspiration. There are more posts if you would like to read them. I've tried to share from my heart and I hope that I can touch your heart too. Be Blessed in Jesus.
MY KING
My King. How shall I describe Him? How do
you put into words a fraction of what He is?
He is a mystery, a never ending mystery whose
solution I will never fully know. You might simply
say "He is God", and yes, that is the answer but
it is also the question. He is paradox. His ways
are un-searchable. He is infinite, both past, present
and future - all is known to Him; He exists everywhere
at once. This One called God - Creator - is All
Powerful - Endless - Omnipotent, all knowing -
Unfettered by time - Perfect - Holy - Just - Wise
- the Master Artist.
He envisioned a place - a good place, and being what He Is, had the power to bring it into BEING; and so, He spoke the words and the things that He planned, that vision of His heart, BECAME... by the power of His Word. The Word was Life, and all things were made through the Word. God spoke the Universe into being by His will and through the Word. He made the world we call Earth, and everything in it, and it was good.
Then God turned His hand to His Masterwork - Man. God made man in His Own image, like to Himself but different. Into man He placed what He, Himself, was - purity, peace, light, love - the best of Himself, and He breathed the breath of Life into him. He then placed this amazing creation, containing the fingerprints of God's Own self, in a beautiful garden - Eden, Paradise. He blessed them and bid them to live and have dominion over the Earth; to be fruitful and multiply. And God saw all that He had made, and indeed it was very good.
But God, in His infinite wisdom, knew that the love which He desired from man could not be obtained without man choosing to love Him. To make man serve Him, to force man to adore Him would not be love; it would be the mechanical actions of robots. And so, knowing that love must be freely given to be real, God gave man free will. To choose Him; to love and obey, worship and adore Him - but that also gave them the freedom to hate and disobey, despise and reject Him. He therefore placed a tree, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, in the middle of the garden. He told man, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." These words He spoke and the choice He gave. He warned what disobedience would cost - DEATH - death to everything as man knew it; death to the world's perfection, death as the end of all life; eventually death to his own body. In his dominion over Earth, man would bring it all down with him.
In that hour did God's heart ache for the choice He knew would come? Did he sorrow for the pain of the future? Perhaps. But perhaps, too, He saw afar off the joy that would one day be, and was strengthened.
Man eventually made the choice; when faced with temptation he chose to disobey, and as he was warned, he died, and all creation with him. Lost was the innocence of the past - man now knew good and evil and evil became a part of him.
The tree of life stood also in the garden, and God knew that eating of it, man would live forever - cursed and marred, ever tainted - and so He did what must be done. He drove man out of the garden and hid it from him. Where man had once walked with God in the cool now they could stand before Him without shame for the evil they now carried. God in His mercy clothed them with skins, foretelling the death of One innocent of sin to provide a covering.
Since that time man has been tainted, though free will and choice remain. Some have chosen evil and will to do evil, turning from God in selfishness; Some, though, have chosen good, and God, and seek to follow Him in spite of their failings.
God, as I said, knows all, and knowing the choice that would be made, He prepared the means to bring man back to Him. When the time was right, He sent Himself in the form of a man - in the form of the first man before the fall - spotless, pure, free from the taint. This Man was God, in the flesh, with all this life's pain, sorrow, fear and humanity - yet without sin. He is the Word that went forth from God in the beginning. He is True Life embodied. He is one with God and yet distinct. He is called the Son of God, and God is His Father.
He came to serve; to bring the message of God's love and forgiveness, to bring hope and life to the world. Many had died in hope waiting for this day and now He had come. He called man back to God and offered the means to regain what was lost. He knew what He had to do and became willing to do what was needed to repair the breach between God and man. The cost of the knowledge of good and evil was death - the restoration required one death to make the reconciliation. The death of the Word; the death of Life Himself. God required His Own spotless and selfless death to bring Life back to his people; so He came as a man and this Man was given a choice just as the first man was, but a different kind of choice. He could choose to disobey the call and save His earthly life or He could obey, to the very death, and in willingly giving His life, pure - spotless - innocent of wrong, give Life back to the dead.
He chose to obey the call, willingly dying a horrible death so that mankind - you and I - would have a covering made in His blood, so that by His death we may LIVE. This is astounding, a thing wonderful beyond compare, but more awesome still is that after He had humbled Himself unto death the Word which spoke Life in the beginning conquered death itself and returned to Life again - changed, glorified, undying ever again!!
As a creature had to die to provide the coverings for the first people, so the Word died to provide a covering for all people. We need only choose to accept His gift to partake. We must choose to obey as He did, and give ourselves to Him in love. Then, just as He died and rose to Life, when we die here, we too will be raised to incorruptible Life.
It is not easy to obey - few things in this life are easy - but we are not alone. When the Word returned to God He promised to be with us always. He lives inside all of those who accept His Life, and He has sent His Spirit, the Spirit of God - the Helper - the Comforter - to lead and guide us.
I have tried to explain some of what God is and it is not a simple task. He is boundless and His ways are mysterious. It is hard to understand why He does what He does sometimes, but I trust that His plan will be fulfilled one day and that He will bring those that have chosen Him to the place that He has prepared for us. He will one day remake this fallen world as it was in the beginning - perfect and clean - and the redeemed will live there, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying. There will be no more pain, for the old things will have passed away. (Revelation 21:4) So it will be.
Those who reject Him will spend eternity after death in everlasting death - without God - cut off from the love they were made for. It all comes down to choice; to obey and find Life or to continue to disobey and end in Death. The choice is yours. Have you chosen? You might want to consider it.
One more thing. The Word has a name - Jesus. You can read of Him in the Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and you will find the truth.
