My name is Oni. I'm a half-breed in this world of chaos. My mother, a prue and gentle Artic Fox, was raped by a wolf. with the forced pregnantcy her family shuned her and she had to go into hiding for fear of loosing her child, me. After months of living in filth I was born, an angel in my mothers' eye but a freak to the rest of society. By then my mother was dead to her family and did not give relief in anyway. Thankfully a friend helped her over the next couple years. It was already visible from the beginning that I would not grow to resemble a true artic fox. At 5 years old I was taller, heavier, and had black in my coat; as thouth I had black socks and a hood on. As time continued to pass I continued to grow, obtaining a wolf-like build to add to my look. By now my mother had found a more pernament place for the two of us to live. An appartment served as out home for the next few years. That is untill my 'father' came to see me. A month after I turned 12 is when I first met my 'father'. He showed up one day at out home just after night fall. He was a huge black wolf, and a drug lord. He tried to claim me as his kin, his son. But my mother refused straight away. After a tence moment he left, saying that the next time he came he would take me with him. The next day we moved. The following years consisted of my mother teaching me everything I would need to know if we ever got seperated for a long period of time. She showed me how to read a persons actions and predict what they would do from them. Explained how to go about unnoticed in crouded and empty areas. What to do for food if I faced starving. She tought me survive on my own. As we moved from town to town, city to city, she planned out situations and excape routes where ever we went or lived. The thing was, she only got two years to teach me. Again my 'father' showed up at our home, this time to take me and leave without a word. I know he was there but he didn't know I was, and I hid in one of the emergency hideouts in the house. As mother spoke to him I stayed in my place, waiting. Soon a fight started and a gunshot rang out. Mother screamed in pain. Two more shots followed. The front door slamed shut. Silence. Not even caring I went to Mother. I found her in the living room, spread out and laying in a pool of her own blood. Her snow white fur was matted in the cremson liquid. She had been shot in the chest, stomach, and leg. I tried helping her but she wouldn't let me. "It's too late" she told me. I clung to her, crying into her neck. Them three words scared me to the core. Mother was never one to give up, never...Then she told me to listen. I did. "I failed you Oni..." she said. "No you didn't Mom," I said throuth tears. "You only succeded early." She smiled, her breathing slowed down. "Oni you are my son and my angel, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I wish I could give you a better life, that I didn't have to leave you. Please remember everything I have ever tought you and you will be fine." Mother's eyes started glazing over. "Please live for me son. I will always love you Oni, my angel." I watch my mother die in front of me, and I could do nothing to stop it. I clung to her and cried for hours, days, I don't know but kept saying, "you didn't fail; I love you; please don't leave me mom, I need you..." How I survived the year after that I can't even guess. I have no memory of that time period, it's as if it didn't even exist. Now I am 18, have no place to call home, and looking for my 'father'. He will know the pain that he has caused me and Mother.
